Are you in a season of battle? Is your marriage struggling, finances a mess, are you hurting from grief of a lost loved one or battling with yourself mentally in a fight against depression or anxiety? Are you tired, breathless, and wanting to throw in the towel?

In the bible, we see a lot of people struggling through life’s battles. One person that comes to my heart and mind is David. We see David battle a lot of things in his lifetime. He fought a scary giant, he committed adultery, he ordered for the death of a man, he grieved the death of his baby, he ran for his life from a jealous leader, one of his sons betrayed him, another son was murdered, his people were infected by a plague, his very good friend Jonathan was killed in battle and overall he fought to lead a kingdom the way God needed him to. David reigned as king of Israel for 40 years, helped raise up the next king who was very wise and from David’s linage we are given JESUS! His life and battles all had a purpose and meaning that were bigger than what David saw. God takes the evil and turns it for good. Romans 8:28 says “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Trust that God is taking what the enemy meant to destroy you and giving it meaning and purpose.

Isaiah 55:8-9 says this: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” God knows better, sees better and makes better. Won’t you trust the one who sees it all rather than you who only sees the battle in front of you?

If you are struggling, I want to encourage you to grab a bible, flip to the back and see who wins in the end. It’s not your depression, it’s not your debt, it’s not the divorce, it’s not the devil, in fact it’s not even death it’s JESUS! He defeats it all! In the book of Revelation Jesus says, “I am the Alpha, Omega, the first and the last, the Beginning and the end.” (Revelation 22:13). So, in these tough seasons of life here on earth put your trust in the one who wins. The one who was and is to come. God sees the victory and promises the coming of it!
